Gérald Genta is famous for bringing the complicated watch back into fashion. The perpetual calendar, the skeletonized movement and the minute repeating were three of his signature complications. The faceted case, either for pocket or wristwatches and the use of contrasting stones decorating the bezel to indicate the indexes is also typical of the Genta’s aesthetic. Finally, the Picasso of watches was renowned for special commissioned pieces as well as for creating pieces in pair, just how watchmakers did hundreds of years before him.
