This fascinating design testifies a moment in Gérald Genta’s career when he truly affirms his style while still borrowing some aesthetic elements from traditional Swiss watchmaking. The highly decorated dial with the typical layout of the perpetual calendar, the arched bow of the crown and the diamond-set bezel for example are typically Genta’s style. Nonetheless, the artist still uses the traditional circular shape for the case as well as the slide for the minute repeater. As such, this present design is a bridge between the secular Swiss watchmaking and its reinterpretation by Gérald Genta.
