In 2021, in lockdown, this elevated everything - accompanied by Hans Hotter singing Bach! The nose gives the vintage, with its richness and ripeness and now, a delicacy of both maturity and the joy of St.Julien. I even 'nailed it', which says much more for the wine than for my tasting talents. The overriding note on the palate is blueberry splendour, soft, aromatic and very winning. The refinement of texture is so St.Julien - this is great, signature Beychevelle, a true flagship for this château. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
