The Grand Seiko SBGY005 was released in 2020 as a Takashimaya Osaka department store release limited to only 22 pieces, making the present lot an incredibly rare opportunity for collectors. The model features a Heritage collection dial, reflecting the Japanese aesthetic of 24 sekki, or ‘small seasons.’ The bright white dial on the Reference SBGY005 is inspired by an ice wall and offers the wearer a multi-faceted visual experience.
The model is power by the in-house 9R31 Spring Drive calibre finished by the Shinshu Watch Studio, and features a 72 hour power reserve. The caliber is impressive, offering a dual-spring barrel that contains two mainsprings set in parallel.
Grand Seiko has been established for 62 years and offers collectors new and old, exceptional pieces of incredible craftsmanship. This year, the brand achieved new heights with the introduction of one of their most complicated watches yet, the Kodo Constant-Force Tourbillon.
