This rare piece is part of a very small group of wristwatches produced by Cartier around 1947. Its radical aesthetic is very different from the usual image of the brand, demonstrating the quest of Cartier of producing a luxury sport timepiece. This is further testified by the screw-down back and the articulated lugs which are extremely rare on vintage Cartier watches.
Only a handful of these pieces are known to the market. As such, this lot represent a wonderful opportunity for a Cartier connoisseur to acquire a rare gem.
