A fine and large silver skeletonised manual pocket annual calendar with equation of time indicadtion and Réaumur thermometer

Circa 1820


Movement: gilded skeletonised, central annular wheel driven by worm gear connected to pendant's crown, blued steel equation cam moving spring-loaded rack connected to equation wheel

• Dial: silvered chapter ring, the edge calibrated with annual calendar indicated via long blued steel moon hand, upper half of inner edge with sector for equation of time indicated via blued steel hand with golden sun tip, subsidiary dial for Réaumur thermometer

• Case: silver, engine-turned back, stepped gold bezels, milled band, pendant with knurled crown for setting date, case with maker's mark FV beneath a wheel for François-Jean Veyrat, case back and pendant with French control marks
