In 2004 A. Lange & Söhne introduced the world’s first automatic watch with a perpetual calendar and over-sized twin aperture date. Known as the Langematik Pepetual, this model encapsulates the constant quest for state-of-the-art horology by the German watch brand. Thus, A. Lange & Söhne developed the revolutionary Sax-O-Mat movement containing a zero-reset seconds hand that enhances the accuracy of timekeeping. Unlike previous models that only used such mechanism for the seconds hand, the Langematik Perpetual uses it through a main pusher which controls all the functions including the calendar and moon phases at once.

The revolutionary Sax-O-Mat movement features a zero-reset seconds hand, which creates a more accurate timepiece. While this was initially used only for the seconds hand in previous models, the Langematik Perpetual employs this function by having a main pusher which can control all of the functions, including the calendar and moon phases, at once.
