A mid-18th century watch movement signed Ellicott with later associated decorative agate case and chatelaine 


• Movement: full plate gilded, verge escapement, decoratively pierced balance cock engraved with flowers, foliage and a shell at the neck, fusee and chain, silver regulation disc, square baluster pillars, signed Ellicott, London

• Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, Arabic outer minute ring, blued steel beetle and poker hands

• Case: later associated, the agate case incised with asymmetrically arranged swirling ridges and set to the centre with a large floral spray set with coloured pastes, gilt-metal bezels, diamond-set thumb piece 

• Chatelaine: later associated


chatelaine composed of three gilt-metal backed sections of agate decorated with coloured paste-set floral sprays, the borders of cast yellow metal  repoussé decoration, matching pendant chains, the uppermost panel with gilt-metal pendant clip, the pendant chains terminating in a striated agate set key and fob seal, the fob seal with plain agate base
