Movement: damascened nickel 3/4 plate, lever escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance, decoratively engraved balance cock, long regulation arc engraved to backplate, a snail and a hare to represent slow/fast, signed Girard-Perregaux, London

 Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring, marked below 12 for 'Ship's Time', two subsidiary dials for second and tertiary time zones marked respectively East Time & West Time, subsidiary seconds, signed and numbered Girard-Perregaux, London, No. 36662

Case: 18ct gold, engine-turned covers, plain ring pendant, gold cuvette with engraved plaque marked 'Marine Recorder', signed Girard-Perregaux, London and with four apertures for winding and setting the three zones, all marked with directionals, case and cuvettenumbered 36662

It is curious to see that the Girard-Perregaux signature to this watch is followed by the city name of London. As the watch is called a 'Marine Recorder', the Swiss firm were perhaps keen to align themselves with the English capital in light of the country's importance as an international trading nation in the 19th century.
