Description

Nuits St. Georges, Clos de la Maréchale 2005

Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier

Côte de Nuits, 1er Cru

Excellent levels and appearance; Excellents niveaux et apparence

This lovely Mugnier monopoly of just under 10 hectares of old vines is the largest monopoly on the Côte d'Or. In 2016, this has a strong, forthright Nuits nose, bringing in the floral and raspberry notes of the 1ers crus of Prémeaux. Lots of flesh and structure on the palate. Not a crime to drink now although it will live into the future. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

The superlative collection of a famous business leader, recently removed from the deep-underground, naturally cool cellar of a beautiful French country house, the quality of the storage being reflected in the excellent levels and appearance found across the board. A highly attractive collection of Domaine de la Romanée Conti, featuring 3-bottle assortment cases is followed by a welter of Bouchard Père et Fils lots and other great Burgundy producers, after which comes 1st Growth claret and other top Châteaux
