Description
Château Cheval Blanc 2004
St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)
u. 1 bn, excellent appearance, tissue wrapped ; Excellente apparence, enveloppé de papier de soie
Vintage from 22 September to 5 October. 13.2% alcohol. 53% Cabernet Franc, 47% Merlot. This is just so vivid and so intensely vanilla. So much glycerol (a feat this year), succulence and yet freshness, which is one of the joys of this initially underestimated vintage. More recently, a really classy, blackberry nose. Chocolate velvet on the palate. Slips down, as well it should. Russian leather and liquorice. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
