This lot has been professionally mounted for exhibition, there is residue tape to the reverse.

Located on the easterly bank of the Sumida River, the district of Honjo Fukagawa was the official site of approximately fifteen timber merchants since 1701. Here, snow has fallen thickly over the timber-yard: two small dogs face one another under diagonally placed timber; to the foreground a partially hidden umbrella bears the character 'Uo' in reference to the publisher of the series Uoya Eikichi.
