Hosoban: 30.7 x 13.9 cm., 12⅛ x 5½ in. 

This lot has been professionally mounted for exhibition, there is residue tape to the reverse.

In 1774, Otani Hiroji III performed in the play A Soga Pattern Dyed to Order (Oatsuraezome Soga no Hinagata) in the role of Banba no Chuda at the Nakamura Theatre, which also included a joruri titled The Plovers: Combing Hair at Midnight (Sono chidori yowa no kamisuki).
