Document signed ("Th: Jefferson") as third President, being a Northwest Territory land grant in favor of Stephen Woolery


Printed broadside document form on vellum (285 x 311 mm), accomplished in a clerical hand, Washington, 30 December 1803, countersigned by the Secretary of State ("James Madison"), embossed paper seal of the United States; a few wrinkles, lightly soiled. Matted, framed, and glazed.


"Know ye, that Stephen Woolery of Pennsylvania, having deposited in the Treasury a Certificate of the Register of the Land Office at Cincinnati whereby it appears that he has made full payment for the Lot or Section Number Fourteen of Township Number Four in Range Number Two, of the Lands directed to be sold at Cincinnati by the Act of Congress, entitled, 'An Act to amend the Act, entitled An Act providing for the sale of the Lands of the United States in the Territory North West of the Ohio, and above the mouth of the Kenticky River.' There is granted by the United States in pursuance of the Act aforesaid, unto the said Stephen Woolery the Lot or Section above described."
