Sotheby’s is pleased to announce New York’s July sale, “Fine Books and Manuscripts, Including Americana.” Part 1 of this sale will be open for online and absentee bidding on 7 July and will culminate in a live auction on 21 July. This first part brings together a select group of truly exceptional books and manuscripts. With material ranging widely across periods, from a First Folio of William Shakespeare’s works, to a remarkable copy of Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species, to Dashiell Hammett’s typescript for The Glass Key with autograph annotations, each lot features a magnificent and highly desirable work.

A highlights exhibition will be open for viewing from Tuesday, 12 July, through Wednesday, 20 July. Private viewings are available upon request.
