Printed broadside document on paper (382 x 317 mm, sight), text in three columns in French, English, and Dutch, [Philadelphia, before 12 December 1793], being a three-language ship's paper for the brig Clarissa, commanded by Frederick Tracy and bound from New London to the West Indies carrying "Mules, Oxen, Sheep, hogs, Beef, Pork, butter, Lard, Candles, Soap, Stores, hoops, Merchandize," further countersigned by the Deputy Collector of Customs at New London ("J Huntington"), embossed paper seal of the United States, signature and seal of a New London notary ("Mich Law"); a few light scattered stains, a bit of separation at left margin of central horizontal fold. Matted, framed, and glazed with a engraved portrait of Jefferson and a souvenir textile from the 1876 Centennial incorporating a portrait of Washington.

A fine example, with unusually fresh signatures of President Washington and Secretary of State Jefferson.
