Description

Château Léoville Las Cases 1983

St. Julien, 2ème Cru Classé

u. 1bn, 3vts, labels very slightly soiled, 3 labels slightly scuffed, 1 capsule very slightly corroded on top

In 2020, an incredibly deep, dense colour - and a superb cork, typical of Léoville Lascases. Intense cassis on nose and palate and a huge, powerful, rich mouthful of blackberry and ripe red cherries. This is fantastic wine, a great tribute to the late Michel Delon. The glycerol is all-enveloping, with opulence over the classic structure, ending in succulent sweetness. 'Architectural' and brilliant. One of the very top 1983s - and increasingly so. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
