Bearing French custom stamp and a German or Swiss customs label. The top with rising compartment with fitted interior and frontal gilt-tooled red leather lined writing surface opening to reveal a fitted interior with a central compartment fitted with secret drawers and flanked at each side with a compartment fitted with later silk moire liners.

Minor faded spots, hairline age cracks and slightly lifting marquetry at central top, gilt-bronze mounts with some minor rubbing.
