A collection of domestic table linen, including napkins, table mats and kitchen cloths, Ireland, 19th and 20th century (Qty 30)
Comprising of:
Linen damask tablecloths, Ireland, late 19th/early 20th century: one cloth with ‘Lily of the valley’ design (ecru in colour: 183cm by 217cm), one cloth with ‘Band of scrolling foliage’ design (white in colour: 314cm by 171cm), with a matching oval linen cloth of the same design (176cm by 318cm), another cotton cloth, with ‘Rose’ design (white in colour: 354cm by 174cm), a linen damask cloth with ‘Floral medallion’ design (220cm by 369cm), with ink inscription on one edge: Sloane Shelbourne Lodge, another cloth with ‘Tulip’ design (181cm by 224cm), the selvedge at both ends woven with, “IRISH LINEN DOUBLE DAMASK”,
together with a fine linen long embroidered scrolling and floral cloth with scalloped edges (white: 163cm by 295cm), with six complimentary design napkins (ecru: 45cm by 45cm) and a further twelve small complimentary design tea/cocktail napkins (pale beige: 23cm by 23cm), a small geometric cutwork and white embroidered stylised foliate motif cloth (106cm by 108cm), a pulled work and hardanger cloth, using beige thread detailing (178cm by 220cm) and a small cloth, with simple pulled work border (67cm by 110cm), with two matching large napkins (51cm by 73cm)
