designed in 1944
mahogany, Candoglia marble, marble inlays and brass
Arredamenti Osvaldo Borsani Varedo edition, Varedo, Italy
75 x 219,5 x 110,2 cm; 29 1/2 x 86 7/16 x 43 3/8 in.
Good overall condition.
The marble top presents with superbly made marble inlays shaped as leaves in different marble types; five restorations (10 cm and 6 cm long) on the same edge of the table with minute losses of marble toward the end of the table top, with several light scratches throughout due to usage and age, not visually distracting. Stains and scratches to the top underside with three brown sellotape residuals as well as traces of glue. The shape of the table base is drawn on the top underside to facilitate positioning. Traces of oxidation to the feet brass decorations which can move slightly. Scratches and some scuffs throughout the legs, some wood cracks particularly on the top side of the center leg which presents with a minimal movement and some discoloration to the feet underside. Four metal brackets under each of the four far out wings probably for leavers. All consistent with use and age.
