circa 1925

patinated wrought iron, marble

twice impressed EBRANDT

35 x 50 1/2 x 16 1/2 in. (88.9 x 128.3 x 41.9 cm)

Overall in very good condition. The wrought iron presents with some very minor surface irregularities inherent to the medium and its casting. The iron with scattered scratches, small discolorations, rubbing to the patina and light oxidation particularly concentrated to the recessed areas, consistent with age and not visually distracting. A break through the center of the marble top has recently been sensitively stabilized by a professional restorer, and is now stable and not visually distracting from the rich veining. The marble presents with several fine hairline cracks and a few small losses, most of which appear to have been sensitively restored and filled at some point in the history of the piece and not visually distracting. The marble surface presents with scattered scratches, abrasions, wear and small indentations concentrated to the edges, consistent with gentle use and not visually distracting. A lovely console table by Edgar Brandt with beautifully rendered ironwork.
