Pair of Two-Light Sconces
favrile glass, patinated bronze
each shade engraved L.C.T.
10 3/8 x 11 1/2 x 6 1/4 in. (26.4 x 29.2 x 15.9 cm) each
Overall in very good condition. The glass with scattered minor air bubbles, particulate inclusions and surface irregularities inherent in the making and not visually distracting. The bottom rims of each shade with a few scattered and minute edge flecks, not visible when the shades are assembled to the sconce mount. Each shade is applied with a discrete accession number from a previous owner. The shades display an elegant waisted silhouette with subtle quilted texture and pulled feather decoration. Each shade with some concentrated surface scratches around the bottom collars resulting from contact with the sconce mounts, consistent with age and handling. The bronze mounts are in very good condition with scattered minor abrasions and wear. The bronze was repatinated at some point in the history of the piece. As seen in the catalogue illustration, the right socket arm of the sconce shown on the right is bent slightly inward and could be bent back at the buyer’s discretion. With later replaced sockets.
