Pair of "Berger" Stools
designed circa 1953
jacaranda
largest: 11 in. (27.9 cm) high, 13 in. (33 cm) diameter
Overall in very good condition. The wooden surfaces have recently been sensitively reconditioned to revitalize the rich quality of the rosewood. The wood presents with light surface scratches, minor abrasions and small indentations particularly concentrated to the edges and legs as consistent with age and gentle use. As visible in the catalogue photography, the seats of both stools are composed of several pieces of wood joined together, the seams of which display slight and stable separation. One stool with a fine hairline crack to the edge of the seat measuring approximately 1 in., which is stable and not visually distracting. The wood with occasional small discolorations and scattered water marks, not visually distracting. The uppermost edges of the legs have recently been professionally superglued to the stool tops to ensure stability and functionality.
