A very rare porcelain platter from the Everyday Service, Imperial Porcelain Factory, period of Catherine II (1762-1796), late 18th century 


the cavetto painted with a pink rose in the middle of four concentric circles painted in various shades of reds and light blue, each as a different pattern, the rim of the platter gilded, inscribed on the reverse with the blue mark for Catherine II and impressed with the number 10

diameter 35cm; 13¾in.

An octagonal tray from the Everyday Service of Catherine II featuring comparative flowers and blue ribbon border is illustrated in the catalogue for the exhibition An Imperial Fascination: Porcelain - Dining with the Czars, Peterhof held at A La Vieille Russie in New York, 15th March to 20th April 1991, p. 36, no. 33.
