Surf Watchers

signed James Wyeth (lower left)

watercolor on paper

26½ by 40 in.

67.3 by 101.6 cm.

Executed in 1976.

The sheet is hinged along the top edge in 3 places, and displays a natural rippling to the paper inherent to the artist's working method. There are a few pindots of foxing in the upper right corner, and a minor 1-inch scratch to the surface to the left of the column of the house that is most likely due to the artist's working method. The expert has confirmed this work was executed on Strathmore plate finish paper. Framed Dimensions: 39 by 52 1/2 in. (99.1 by 133.4 cm.)
