Black Zag S

wood painted black and Formica

41¼ by 49½ by 6 in.

104.8 by 125.7 by 15.2 cm.

Executed in 1968.

This work is in very good and sound condition overall. There is evidence of minor wear and handling to the edges and corners. Not visible in normal viewing conditions, there is white paint residue along the lower lateral edge, likely from a previous installation. There is a small missing piece with corresponding glue residue visible along the left side in the center of the upper round element (6 inches from the left-most edge). All other surface irregularities appear inherent to the artist's working method and chosen medium. As expected with a work of this construction, a light dust has settled on the surface.
