signed Frankenthaler (lower right)

oil on paper

16⅞ by 14 in.

42.9 by 35.6 cm.

Executed in 1963.

This work is in very good condition overall. There is a soft undulation to the sheet, inherent to the artist's working method and chosen medium. There are oil stain halos surrounding the painted passages, also inherent to the artist's chosen medium. Under close inspection, there is faint discoloration to the sheet, most noticeable along the edges. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat intermittently along the edges. Framed under Plexiglas.

Framed dimensions: 23 ⅜ by 20 ⅝ in. (51.7 by 52.4 cm.)
