Mural for The Mount Sinai Hospital, New York

signed K. Haring and dated Jan. 16-1986 (on the right panel)

acrylic on vinyl wallpaper laid on aluminum, in 5 parts

overall: 53⅝ by 210 in.

135.6 by 533.4 cm.

Executed in 1986.

This work is in very good condition overall. The edges of the vinyl, and the window cut-outs in the lower right corner of the far right panel have been unevenly trimmed and exhibit signs of light wear and handling, inherent to the original dismounting process. There are scattered pinholes and former staple impressions scattered throughout, also inherent to the original mounting of the mural. Upon close inspection, there is evidence of a 1 ½ inch repaired tear at the center of the rightmost panel, approximately 30½ inches above the lower edge and 30 inches from the right edge. There is light undulation visible throughout with resultant soft creases to the vinyl surface. Throughout the black acrylic, there are scattered signs of wear and rubbing to the surface, including scuffs and minor losses. Unframed.
