Early 1930s Granville Brothers racing plane. Two built. The one depicted by this model was built to order for the Cord Auto Company. Flown by Florence Klingensmith in the Women’s Free-For-All at the 1933 Chicago International Races; flown by the same during the Phillips Trophy race later that year, during which the fabric on the plane’s top right wing ripped, resulting in a crash that killed Klingensmith and destroyed the plane.
