Collection François Revel, Lyon.

François revel was an engineer working in Asia during the 1930s for his family company Revel, manufacturer of the famous eponymous brand of French Umbrellas (1851-1951).

L'ingénieur lyonnais François Revel avait séjourné en Chine au début des années 1930, à l'occasion de l'implantation des parapluies de la Maison Revel en Extrême-Orient. Grand admirateur de Valéry et ami de Pierre-Julien Monod, Revel aura plus d'une fois l'occasion de leur dire tout le bien qu'il pensait de la justesse de ses vues sur l'Orient.
