Japanese wood box, the top inscribed with the name of the item, signed and with seal mark of the artist, the reverse side of the box cover inscribed with the title of the item reading Tokisada.

Kato Takahiro was born in Nagoya in 1972 as the second son of the potter Kato Shigetaka. His grandfather Kato Tokuro is also traditional pottery artist as well as an art historian. In 1990, Kato attended Nagoya University of Art and was enrolled in the oil painting department. In 1994, Kato traveled around Asia and Europe, and was exposed to various languages and arts. After returning to Japan, Kato started to work at his father’s workshop. In 1999, he held his first solo exhibition in Osaka’s Hankyu Umeda department store, and has been exhibiting annually ever since. In 2006, he held his first solo exhibition in at Shibuya Kuroda Ceramics.
加藤高宏1972年出生于名古屋陶藝世家。其父親加藤重高,祖父加藤唐九郎都是陶藝家,祖父更是陶磁史研究者。1990年,加藤就讀于名古屋藝術大學洋畫科。1994年,加藤遊歷亞洲和歐洲,旅程中接觸到了不同的當地語言和藝術。返回日本後,加藤開始在父親的工坊製作陶器。1999年,加藤在大阪阪急梅田本店舉辦了首次個人作品展覽,從此每年在日本各地發佈作品。2006年,加藤高宏首次在涉谷黑田陶苑舉辦個人展覽。
