Description

North American Rockwell Apollo 11 Commemorative Medallion. 2 1/2 inches in diameter, brass, obverse depicting a stylized Saturn V "USA" launch vehicle, reading "Aldrin/Armstrong/Collins/Apollo XI" around the outside, reverse depicting an astronaut walking on the lunar surface with the Lunar Module (LM) behind and Command and Service Module (CSM) in space above. 4 ounces. WITH: circular gold card stock insert, 2 inches in diameter, reading, "This medallion is one of a limited number struck by North American Rockwell to commemorate the historic first manned lunar landing."

Directly from the Personal Collection of Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin

North American Rockwell built the Apollo 11 Command and Service Module (CSM) depicted on the reverse of this commemorative medallion. Michael Collins piloted the CSM alone in orbit around the Moon as Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong explored the lunar surface.
