Description
Two Illuminated Initials on a leaf from a Bible in Latin
manuscript on vellum. [France (Paris?), 13th century (middle)]
One leaf, c.180×125mm, ruled in plummet and written in gothic script below top line in two columns of 46 lines (c.117×83mm), the text comprising Habakkuk 2:13–(end), the usual prologue to Zephaniah, and Zephaniah 1:1–18, guides to the rubricator in the lower margins, foliated in modern pencil ‘412’ also in the lower margin, ILLUMINATED WITH TWO FOLIATE INITIALS, each with an extension; the margins somewhat darkened, but overall in good condition. In a card mount.
