each volume with 7 lines to the page written in black elegant naskh, ruled in green, orange, gold and blue, verses separated by polychrome and gold rosettes, blue and gold roundels in the margins filled with flower sprays, surah headings in gold within a polychrome cartouche, f.1b of each volume with a polychrome and gold heading, in original Safavid brown leather stamped and tooled gilt binding, the doublures with polychrome decoupé medallions and spandrels, in a later wooden box
