Arabic manuscript on paper, 221 leaves, 15 lines to the page, written in naskh in black ink, ruled in red, black and gold, verses separated by gold roundels, surah headings in white riqa’ against a gold ground within cartouches, gold and polychrome verse markers in the margins, f.1b and f.2a with an illuminated frontispiece, f.220b and f.221a with a finispiece bifolium, in brown gilt and stamped leather binding, with flap
16.5 by 10cm.
The margins are clean, with minor tears due to use, some rubbing and various stains, the incipit and finispiece with losses to the illuminations, some scratches to the binding, as viewed.
