A rare thangka depicting red Tara

Qing dynasty, 18th century


distemper on cloth, the red eight-armed Tara holding a bell and dorje in hands above her head, the wheel and sword in her outstretched right hands, a lance and noose in the left hands and a bow and arrow in her principal hands, seated on a lotus flower and surrounded by twenty-one goddesses
