the rectangular lacquer screen painted on one side depicting a songbird and a flowering tree, the reverse carved in cinnabar lacquer showing a magnificent pavilion richly decorated with dragons and guardian lions surrounded by ruyi clouds, pine trees and maple trees, framed by a dense foliate scroll border, fitted on an openwork stand elaborately carved with three dragons writhing among waves
