Wirkkala’s Hopeakuu (Silver Moon) was first concieved in 1970. This

work from 1973 is modeled after the largest necklaces and earrings in the original 1970 collection. It was inspired by antique jewels and the modernity of the age, and because the circles are different widths, they oscillate when worn.
