folio (300 x 210mm.), title printed in red within white-on-black woodcut border, with blank leaf a1, woodcut printer's device at end, final verso with same border and the title printed in large red xylographic letters, eighteenth-century Italian marbled calf gilt, spine gilt in compartments, title lettered on foredge (from earlier binding)


First Italian edition of Sabellico's work on Venice (see lot 204 for the first edition of 1487), translated by Matteo Visconti of San Canciano. This work unusually contains an elaborate end title on the final verso.
