Chancery folio (313 x 210mm.), 284 leaves, A–Z AA8 BB CC6 DD–NN8, 63 lines of commentary, roman type, woodcut initials, woodcut printer's device below register, later calf tooled in period style over wooden boards, two clasps, four small metal bosses on each cover, a vellum manuscript endleaf at front and at back of volume (both from a fourteenth-century Italian or Bolognese legal text), first few leaves slightly soiled, extremities rubbed


A collected edition of the writings of the late antique grammarian and translator Priscianus of Caesarea. The first edition (prepared by Brognolo and indeed his first publication) appeared in 1470 and this is at least the twelfth edition.
