2 parts in one volume, folio (371 x 273mm.), engraved title-page to part II, engraved illustrations (some printed on folding letterpress sheets with continuous pagination), engraved table between pp.18-19, with initial blank leaf, contemporary vellum with red morocco lettering-piece, lacking engraved title-page to part I and folding plate, a few small wormholes, binding repaired


Alberghetti's treatise on offensive and defensive fortification explored ways to retain recent Venetian territorial gains. Alberghetti, from a family of military engineers, served the Venetian state as an artillery expert.
