A Rosso Antico Marble Herm Head of a Satyr
circa 2nd Century A.D.
with full beard parted in the center, high cheekbones, aquiline nose with bulbous tip, eyes recessed for inlay, gnarled brow, and large pointed ears, his hair centrally parted in the back, upswept above the forehead, and surmounted by a wreath of ivy leaves and berries tied in a Herakles knot in back; no restorations.
Height 15.5 cm.
