A Roman Marble Torso of Silenus
circa 2nd Century A.D.
with traces of a long beard on the chest and of a lagobolon(?) on the right shoulder, and wearing a mantle falling from the left shoulder, remains of a strut on his right side; no restorations.
Height 28.5 cm.
French private collection, Nancy, acquired in the 1940s
