Well potted with a deep bowl resting on a splayed foot pierced with apertures, the well-proportioned stembowl appears to have been assembled from the wheel-turned bowl and stem before the final cold painting of bright red that is still preserved on the exterior of the vessel and interior of the rim.
The fragility of the powdery cold-painted pigment suggests that the vessel was probably not destined for everyday use, and may have been reserved for ceremonial or burial purposes.
