17 3/8 in. (43.9 cm) diameter of shade

Overall in very good condition. When viewed firsthand, the shade displays a golden yellow and warm orange coloration which is enhanced by the light transmission through the dimensional “Turtle-Back” tiles. When viewed with reflected light, the surfaces of the “Turtle-Back” tiles are intensely iridized and present a range of brilliant gold and jewel-tone hues. All of the “Turtle-Back” tiles appear original and undisturbed. The gilt bronze base throughout presents with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions, wear and discolorations consistent with age and gentle handling. The bronze with some occasional oxidation spots and traces of surface soiling concentrated to the recessed contours of the design. With later replaced sockets. With a period finial. This lamp has commanding visual presence and represents a highly unusual and dazzling example from Tiffany’s “Turtle-Back” tile series.
