A design of modern sensation, the Cartier Tortue shares a history which dates back to 1912. At the time when it was made, the Tortue was actually a design only available by special request and was not made for the public until its later days. Named the Tortue for it was inspired by the shell of a tortoise, the Tortue with its odd geometric shape has once again gained the attention of collectors in recent years and became one of the hottest models which Cartier has to offer today.
The current 2497 is a timepiece of simple elegance, focusing on only the pure essence of its unique curves and contours allowing collectors to not only admire the beauty of the watch from the dial but also the case and the movement. Featuring a scarce example of a baguette-cut diamond bezel, this watch expresses no more than the exemplary quality Cartier offers.
