Words-in-freedom with letters and numbers forming a kneeling, praying figure.

Probably in gratitude for being spared during the war, despite severe injuries, several of Jamar 14's words-in-freedom include Christian allusions: the letters in Abbandono + miracolo (“Abandonment + miracle”) form a church altar, whilst in Ferita + ospedale + etisia (“Injury + hospital + tuberculosis”), words read: “Dio Maria Mama” (God, Mary, Mother). It should be noted that the artist's pseudonym, “Jamar 14”, is an anagram of Mary in Italian, as a tribute to his mother and perhaps also to the Virgin.

Between February and December 1917, Jamar 14 published several words-in-freedom in L'Italia Futurista (1917 No 13, 19, 26, 29, 36), as well as an article (1917, No 25). On the back of the sketch, an annotation in pencil indicates that this Preghiera was made for L'Italia Futurista(“Opera di ricerca Epografica paroliberista realizzata per il giornale L’Italia Futurista", illegible signature).

Mots en liberté dans lequel lettres et chiffres figurent un personnage agenouillé en train de prier.

Probablement en remerciement d’avoir été épargné durant la guerre, malgré de graves blessures, plusieurs mots en liberté de Jamar 14 comportent des allusions chrétiennes : les lettres de Abbandono + miracolo ("Abandon + miracle") dessinent un autel d’église, tandis que dans Ferita + ospedale + etisia ("Blessure + hôpital + tuberculose"), on lit : "Dio Maria Mama" (Dieu, Marie, Maman). Rappelons que le pseudonyme de l’artiste, "Jamar 14", est l’anagramme de Marie, en hommage à sa mère et peut-être aussi à la Vierge.

Entre février et décembre 1917, Jamar 14 a publié plusieurs mots en liberté dans L’Italia futurista (1917 : n° 13, 19, 26, 29, 36), ainsi qu’un article (1917, n° 25). Au verso du dessin, une annotation au crayon précise que cette Preghiera a été réalisée pour L’Italia futurista ("Opera di ricerca Epografica paroliberista realizzata per il giornale L’Italia futurista", signature illisible).
