carved and pierced hardwood, silver-metal

16cm. high, 28cm. wide, 24.5cm. deep; 6¼in., 11in., 9¾in.

Carved in Moxos or Chiquitos, circa 1770.

Finely worked and in overall good condition. Typical wear to internal painted decoration and rubbing to exterior which is of a pleasing appearamnce. Clasp to lockplate lacking, probably formerly hinged. With applied baise to the base.
