Close inspection reveals a superficial layer of dust that has settled in places to the copper wire and an extremely short and faint crack to the lower centre of the wooden element. Extremely close inspection under ultraviolet light reveals two minute specs in the yellow pigment that fluoresce unevenly.

Indicative of a strengthening market, the auction record for a work by Jeff Sonhouse was achieved in December 2020 when a similar work Study for Exhibit A – Cardinal Francis Arinze from 2005, sold in New York for $170,100.
