The Rolex Tridor is part of the iconic Day-Date collection and definitely one of the most creative iterations thereof. Models of the prestigious Day-Date line are always crafted from precious metals such as gold or platinum, hence the typical two-tone Rolex models we see are never Day-Date examples, given that they are a combination of stainless steel and gold. The present lot is an exception and was introduced in the 1980s. While maybe simply appearing like a two-tone at first sight, it is actually crafted using three different types of gold. The white gold case is paired with a fluted yellow gold bezel, and the bracelet boasts a combination of pink, yellow and white gold. Not as sought-after at the time, it was discontinued after around 20 years of production and is gaining in popularity nowadays.
The present example is offered by its original Swiss owner who enjoyed the watch just as much as he cared for it. Having been serviced twice, it also received a replacement dial and some refurbishing of the case. It is further accompanied by its original guarantee and sale invoice from Bucherer in Geneva.
